DYAD LEADERSHIP

The dyad leadership structure is an organizational structure in which (in its most basic form) two leaders with different, but complimentary, expertise or background are equally accountable for a specific line of business. Each partner has a set of responsibilities for which they are mainly responsible on a day-to-day basis, but there is a shared decision-making responsibility that requires a high degree of collaboration and alignment.

This leadership structure is unique, requiring the partners to be deliberate about their partnership and to prioritize the strength of the relationship at an equal level as the prioritization of business goals. When done well, it can be magical. When not done well, disastrous.
